January 2007
A Happy New Year to you. Now that the Christmas Festivities are over, we are looking forward to a new year of rallying. Your 2007 rally list will be with you soon, with a variety of venues to choose from. The first rally is the members meeting at the Esholt Sports Club, March 15th - 18th. This is an important meeting where you the member give an insight on what and where you would like to have future rallies. This is the object of the club. The member chooses the venues. We hope you can be there.
Fishing Rally Weekend
The first weekend in December saw 4 members brave the element, sea fishing off the beach at Sandsend.
What fish were caught were thrown back in to the sea because they were too small. We also had a bit of competition, with a seal being present. We wonder how many he caught? After a fruitless day we returned to camp where we settled down in Bob’s caravan drinking and discussing our tactics for next time.
Some of us returned home on Sunday morning where as Bob went on to fish at Saltburn.
We have another fishing weekend rally for 2007 at Barlow, near to Chesterfield.
Christmas Dinner Rally
This rally started on the Thursday when four members arrived. We rallied round and put up the Christmas tree and decorations for the weekends festivities. On the evening we settled down to Mulled Wine and Linda’s home made mince pies. Friday evening saw us having Sherry and Christmas cake, accompanied with a variety of cheese. Saturday evening, we all settled in for a scrumptious three course Christmas dinner, prepared, cooked and served by the rally chefs with all the trimmings. At £5 per head, it was value for money.
Whilst digesting the meal and drinking our brandy coffee, and eating after eight mints, we were being entertained by the most sexy looking Santa Clause, and her little Elf, (Alias, Linda & June) dancing to the stripper music and handing out presents.
Once all the excitement and laughter was over, we started on playing the traditional Christmas games. It was hilarious watching Albert, Glen, Caroline, Antony, Nick, June and Linda, trying their hand at Limbo dancing. I never knew how the body could bend over backwards so far and stay on their feet. Antony won, which was no surprise, considering him being the youngest and most agile.
The evening was finished off with Nick and Linda entertaining us on the Karaoke, and being accompanied by the rest of us. Some say it was to drown out their singing.
Sunday morning arrived, and after the communal breakfast and coffee morning, we said our goodbyes, and went our separate ways, This was a thoroughly good weekend rally. Everyone went home happy after an enjoyable weekend with friends. The venue was rebooked for the 2007 Christmas rally.
Thank you to all those who attended for your support. We’ll do it again.

Forthcoming Event
March 15th - 18th 2007 is the first rally for the club. It is also the member’s meeting rally, where we discuss amongst other things ideas and places where the 2008 rally venues are going to be. There has been a suggestion from one member that the holiday rally for 2008 should be in Scotland. Do you agree?
Come along with your ideas. They are wanted. We need to know.
The 2007 Christmas Dinner rally has been booked at Rufforth again. It has been suggested that we do a Christmas Buffet this time instead of the traditional Christmas Dinner. Do you agree, or disagree? We look forward to your opinion.
