May 2007
May Day Bank Holiday 2007
Seven members attended the fishing rally at Barlow, along with three guest members. The weekend started on the Thursday with five members. The others came Friday. Gordon, who had booked in was unable to attend because of his vehicle failing the M.O.T. We really missed you Gordon. Let’s hope that you have the problems sorted for the next rally. This was the first rally for Nanette from Hull, and Jean from Scunthorpe, though Jean nearly didn’t make it as she had a break down on route. Thanks to the recovery people who quickly sorted out the problem. A warm welcome to both of you.
The weekend weather was kind to us with a couple of showers but mainly dry and warm. Nanette, along with Jean and Albert, had a day out at nearby Bakewell, whilst Richard, Susan, Andrew, and Jean, (that’s another Jean) had a day out in Chesterfield. The Farm dog had us running around. He had sneaked in and managed to pinch two pound of sausage which was under Ian’s camper defrosting. The farmer managed to do a rugby tackle on the dog and retrieve the sausage from him. If that wasn’t enough, Saphie, (Jean’s Standard Poodle) took it upon herself to chase a few chickens. She nearly caught one.
Ron & Eunice provided soup for Friday’s tea which went down very well. Thank you for that. Ian did the B.B.Q for Saturday which was enjoyed by everyone. Richard, who is the club’s webmaster took a video of it and is hoping that he can put it on the club’s webpage. The address for this is; www.northern-ralliers.co.uk Please log on if you can and let us know what you think.
