November 2006

Welcome to the first newsletter of the N.R.C.C. We hope to give you the latest development of our camping club. Ian, our Rally Secretary has been busy going to various campsites to secure bookings for the 2007 rally programme. At the moment there is just eight rallies booked for 2007. One of these is the holiday rally in Cornwall. This is a ten day rally at a small site just a mile from Wadebridge. Because Cornwall is quite a distance from the North, he has booked a meeting up rally half way, then a end of holiday rally towards home. Full details of these and other rally venue sites can be found in the Rally book, which should be with you early February.

Bob, our club Secretary has printed out new membership badges to be displayed on your vehicle. Besides saying that you are a paid up member, it also advertises our club to the public, which just might recruit new members.

We have bought a tent from Albert King’s daughter, Dawn for £50 to use as the Rally Arms. It is quite spacious inside which should be able to seat 16 people comfortably, and 20 with a squeeze. There is nothing quite nice as a squeeze? We thank Albert for bringing us such a lovely tent and to Dawn for selling it to us.

The club is in the process of opening up a web page. At the moment it is still under construction, but hopefully it will be up and running in the new year. For those of you with access to the internet, you will be able to log on to find out the latest developments of the club's criteria. The address is www.northern-ralliers.co.uk

Member's Meeting

This was held at Serenity Caravan Park , Hinderwell, on Saturday, October 7th. The meeting was opened by the Chairman, Gordon. He thanked everyone for attending and asked the club Secretary Bob to announce the agenda. Amongst the discussions were the 2007 rally programme. A members end of season dinner rally was suggested. Carolyn mentioned that she knew of a nice pub with campsite that does meals. Once she has got the details, she will report back to the committee. It is hoped to have it booked for October 2007 Member's meeting rally. The next Members meeting will be held at Esholt. We will have to use the Rally Arms for the meeting because the social club wants to make a charge should we use their premises. The meeting will be on Saturday March 17th 2007 at 1pm.

Bonfire Rally, November 4th

About 30 people attended the bonfire celebrations. Some were invited guests by site owners Nigel and Pat. There were seven members of the club along with two guests. All in all the evening went very well. Nigel had once again excelled himself by providing enough food and drink to supply an army. The fireworks display, organised by Bob, was excellent. Quite a magnificent display which lasted over an hour.

It is hoped to come back to Hinderwell again next year for the Guy Fawkes night. Should any member want to participate by contributing towards the event either by donating foods or fireworks, then please get in touch with Bob.
